escaping to the United States in 1925. Her first novel
We The Living describes her life in Russia during the time.
I have not read the book, but it is on my list.

A study of her journey to that philosophy is important. She

Obama is blaming the "fat-cat bankers" for the recent recession.
You lie! Congress and the Clinton, Bush and Obama
Administrations are to blame. Bankers are trying to make money
in whatever economy they face. The Fed lowered interest rates
to 1%. This is a banker's dream. They can loan the money at
5% or more, make a tidy profit, give themselves a bonus and
redo their office.
When Congress passes Bills that favor one group over another,
they are racists and sexists. When the POTUS has his people
threaten discrimination suits against banks unless bad loans
are given to minority groups then bankers make forced decisions.

tax-writing Senate Finance panel, authorized a pay raise
of close to $14,000 to staffer Melodee Hanes last year,
as he was becoming sexually involved with her. Baucus
was separated from his now ex-wife at the time.
As the Politico reports, a few months later Baucus took
Hanes "on a taxpayer-funded trip to Vietnam and the Middle
East, though foreign policy was not her specialty." In
Washington, they call that on-the-job training — except
that Baucus then nominated her for U.S. attorney in Montana,
where Asian and Arab expertise is rarely useful in court.

by the exact same amount as our legislative director and

Creating Jobs
Good news! Unemployment dropped from 10.2% to 10%.
Growth was 2.8% last quarter after 4 quarters of decrease.
The signs are that a weak recovery has begun.
Congress and the Executive are thinking about a bill to
stimulate hiring. Bad idea! The biggest impediment to
hiring is uncertainty about increased costs associated
with pending legislation - cap & trade, tax surcharges
and health reform.
Adam Smith (1776) and Ayn Rand in the 20th century liked

65 million Americans pay no taxes. Many of these receive
money. They usually vote for the Democrat candidates.
Since only 50.1% of the vote will elect, these legal bribes

USPS Bailout
Surprise! The United States Postal Service is losing money!
Before 1963 first-class postage was $0.04. Since then it has
increased 1100%!
The obvious problems are:
Being a monopoly, there is no competition
Employees are not hired/promoted on merit
Far too many stamp designs are created each year
Many groups - including politicians - are subsidized
A suggestion is to allow competition for first and third-class
mail.
Also sell only "Forever stamps". I am a stamp collector, and I
personally hate the thought. The reality is a hundred designs -
many for political/ideological purposes - per year is wasteful!

Yucca Mountain Fraud
___Yucca Mountain was funded by fees added to utility customers
bills over the years. Both the Federal Government and Nevada
politicians have committed fraud. Only after the $13B had
been spent - with a lot going into Nevada revenues - did the
Nevada politicians develop a NIMBY attitude. I have
recommended that the Federal Government place an interstate
access fee (IAF) on all commerce and travel to Nevada until the
utility customers have been repaid in full. Any vehicle,
airplane, train, etc. trying to enter Nevada would have to
pay the IAF - including tourists. The utility companies have
a valid suit against the Dept of Energy (led by an anti-nuke)
and the State of Nevada on behalf of their customers.

Decades ago Grove City [PA] College's Federal Assistance was
terminated due to their refusal to submit HEW's Assurance
of Compliance with Title IX's nondiscrimination provisions.
Hillsdale [MI] College also refused, but Grove City sued
Bell, the HEW Secretary, all the way to the Supreme Court.
The decision was that even funds received indirectly are
Federal Assistance. This means that an American who
serves in the United States Armed Forces and qualifies for
GI Bill benefits may not use those funds to go to
non-compliant colleges. Neither college was guilty of
discrimination. They refused on principle.
What does this have to do with funding for abortion?
Under the logic of the SCOTUS decision, any woman who
receives a subsidy under the AHCAA Bill may not use that
money to pay for an abortion since Federal funding for
abortion is [hopefully] prohibited.

Obamanomics has made several threats to small business.
The Administration wants to equalize income. They will
supposedly keep the Bush tax cuts except for the "rich."
If small businesses file individual rather than corporate
tax returns and make more than $250K in income, then they
will have to pay a surcharge in addition to their income
tax. A value-added-tax was the method of paying for health
care in Dr Zeke Emanuel videos. This is a hidden tax on
all consumers - including the 95% that were not to get a
tax increase. An additional tax on insurance companies and
mandatory employer-provided health insurance will have the
same effect. The "cap and trade" bill provides taxpayer money
to minority and female-owned businesses. This "energy" bill
is just a racist, sexist vehicle for Affirmative Action.
The bill is also anti-business since total expenses will be
increased for businesses. Additional expenses have increased
for businesses which hire low wage individuals since Congress
has increased the minimum wage. Unemployment has increased
for teens, and teens have lost opportunities to gain work

level managers are getting up to 90% pay cuts by the pay czar.

Medicare for Everyone
The "public option" is back on the table. This is not true
Marxism without it. The federal government has deep pockets
with 150 million taxpayers and a printing press and will kill
any competition.
The Baucus bill has 4 levels of coverage from Bronze (65%)
to Platinum (90%) and catastrophic coverage for those under
26 years old (in January 2013?).
Like the current Medicare, price controls will be
implemented. All of the economists advising the feds must
have missed the class on price controls. Less will be
produced - 7 minute limit on a doctor to treat a patient.
Doctors will opt out if possible. There will be a demand
bubble created.
The decreased reimbursement will mean more office visits -
if you need 2 shots, then you will get 1/visit. This wastes
our time, but everyone has coverage!

Like the current Medicare, price controls will be
implemented. All of the economists advising the feds must
have missed the class on price controls. Less will be
produced - 7 minute limit on a doctor to treat a patient.
Doctors will opt out if possible. There will be a demand
bubble created.
The decreased reimbursement will mean more office visits -
if you need 2 shots, then you will get 1/visit. This wastes
our time, but everyone has coverage!

Global Warming and the Polar Bear
Dennis Miller says:

Statistics show the number of polar bears increasing.
When AlGore states that polar bears are an endangered
species, he might have a vested interest in using
his own statistics! After all, to admit that the movie,
a Nobel Prize, the global warming "crisis", etc are just
hype might embolden a Joe Wilson to shout "You lie!".
This might prove inconvenient!

The Fair Tax Defended

When I read criticisms of the FairTax I seldom find any
that make any sense because what the FairTax does is free
us of the manipulation that the Congress devises on a daily
basis. Is freedom of so little value? Never mind, don't
answer. There are those among us who would choose slavery
every time it is offered.
The political class loves the income tax, because it funds
their campaigns, and when they leave office and become
lobbyists, it funds their lifestyle. Lobbyists spend
billions of dollars paying our elected officials to pick
winners and losers, and every time it is the citizen class
that loses. The tax code is now over 70,000 pages, and
even the President's cabinet can't, and I am being kind,
interpret the tax code well enough to properly pay their
taxes.
Even if we had to pay more with the FairTax, and the fact
is that the majority of taxpayers won't, we would no longer
have to spend hours justifying why we should be allowed to
keep any of the money we earn. No longer would we be
required to keep receipts, and employ accountants or tax
software to determine how much of our interest free loan
the government should return to us. This costs us over 300
billion dollars a year and returns nothing to our country's
productivity. It is a net drain on the economy. Curiously,
that number is similar to our yearly deficit pre-Obama.
The FairTax is an inclusive tax paid once at the retail level.
It is not a hidden tax, and taxpayers no longer have their
homes or liberty at risk. If you have ever seen the commercial
for tax lawyers that ends with the smiling couple saying,
"...and we got to keep our home!" you can realize just how
malignant the income tax is.
Another thing that the FairTax addresses that has to be taken
care of soon is Social Security. Right now there are three wage
earners to every Social Security recipient. That ratio is
changing in the wrong direction. The FairTax takes 8% of every
cent it collects to pay for its funding. It broadens the base
from which the tax is collected. Even the political class will
pay for Social Security. Oh! You didn't realize they don't pay
it now? Well they don't, and neither does Warren Buffett or any
person of wealth who lives off their investments.
The 50 million visitors to this country each year will also
support our retirement, not to mention illegal residents working
or not. On top of that, no legal citizen will pay taxes on
necessities. There will be no need for exemptions, and because
of this, this tax cannot be used to promote class warfare.
I have only touched on the tip of the benefits of the FairTax
in comparing it to our current system of taxation. I haven't
seen anything better on offer; and if your response is a flat
tax, that is how the income tax started in 1913. And the flat
tax does not address corporate taxes, estate taxes, and payroll
taxes, or the social engineering that robs us of our freedom.
If you are worried about your mortgage deduction, write
yourself a deduction of any size you want. You no longer need
a deduction from a tax you don't pay. When you pay your
mortgage you are paying with pretax dollars.
I could also mention that the FairTax will also bring
manufacturing and jobs back to the US. Our companies, that now
pay the second highest corporate tax in the world, would be
competitive on the world market. Then you have those dollar
denominated funds, stashed offshore to avoid our current tax
system, approximately $13 trillion that would flow back into
the country--the world's tax haven.
Why wouldn't anyone love the FairTax? Well I guess you could
ask those who loathe freedom, and then you have the political
class who want to be the slave masters. Without a whip they are
just a lot of hot air.

Nobel Peace Prize
The prize for peace was to be awarded to the person who
"shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity
between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing
armies and for the holding of peace congresses."
It is awarded for the 'preservation of peace'.
One possible reason for Barach Obama being awarded this
prize is the shared anti-Semitism with Europe. Martin
Luther had a huge impact on European religion.
Obama has clearly sided with the Arabs against Israel. I
was shocked that Obama received 77% of the Jewish vote in
Nov 2008! Not much later we see President Obama genuflect
to the King of Saudi Arabia! This is a sign of worship!
Europe desperately needs Arab oil and Obama can help them
get it.
He spent his formative years in Muslim schools, so it is
easier to understand his Muslim affinity. However his
Christianity and love for God's Chosen People is suspect.
He also reneged on the promise to Eastern Europe to place
a missile shield there. His timing was questionable being
exactly 70 years since Sept. 17, 1939 when Poland was
invaded by the Soviet Union at the start of World War II.
His top General in Afghanistan had requested 40-60,000 more
troops on 30 Aug. It would have been embarrasing if Obama
had not delayed a decision until after the Nobel award!
He will donate the $1.4M to an unnamed charity. Hillary
had to make her tax return public when she ran for POTUS
and SoS, and it showed the Clintons' favorite charity to
be the Clinton Family Foundation run by Chelsea. Since
Barack and Michele are both lawyers like Bill and Hill,
they will be able to keep the money in the family also.

1 Appropriations Bill and a CR
The Senate approved the $4.66 billion bill that funds the
legislative branch for Fiscal Year 2010, sending it to the
President. The bill also includes a continuing resolution
to fund government operations through October 31, as this
is the only one of the 12 annual appropriations bills to
have been completed before FY 2010 began.
Note that the President submitted his budget request about
6 months ago. The primary function of the House is to
appropriate funds to run the Federal Government. The CR
will fund the FG on FY 2009's budget til the end of the
month - or the next CR.

BUCHANAN TO OBAMA

Barack says we need to have a conversation about race in
America. Fair enough. But this time, it has to be a two-way
conversation. White America needs to be heard from, not just
lectured to... This time, the Silent Majority needs to have
its convictions, grievances and demands heard. And among
them are these:
First, America has been the best country on earth for black
folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from
Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million,
were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the
greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever
known. Wright ought to go down on his knees and thank God
he is an American.
Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks
than white Americans. Untold trillions have been spent
since the ' 60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements,
Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal
services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty
programs designed to bring the African-American community
into the mainstream. Governments, businesses and colleges
have engaged in discrimination against white folks -- with
affirmative action, contract set-asides and quotas -- to
advance black applicants over white applicants. Churches,
foundations, civic groups, schools and individuals all over
America have donated their time and money to support soup
kitchens, adult education, day care, retirement and
nursing homes for blacks.
We hear the grievances. Where is the gratitude???
Barack talks about new 'ladders of opportunity' for blacks..
Let him go to Altoona, and Johnstown, and ask the white
kids in Catholic schools 'how many were visited lately by Ivy
League recruiters handing out scholarships for 'deserving'
white kids?'. Is white America really responsible for the fact
that the crime and incarceration rates for African-Americans
are seven times those of white America? Is it really white
America's fault that illegitimacy in the African-American
community has hit 70 percent and the black dropout rate from
high schools in some cities has reached 50 percent?
Is that the fault of white America or, first and foremost, a
failure of the black community itself?
As for racism, its ugliest manifestation is in interracial
crime, and especially interracial crimes of violence. Is
Barack Obama aware that while white criminals choose black
victims 3 percent of the time, black criminals choose white
victims 45 percent of the time?
Is Barack aware that black-on-white rapes are 100 times more
common than the reverse, that black-on-white robberies were
139 times as common in the first three years of this decade
as the reverse?
We have all heard ad nauseam from the Rev. Al about Tawana
Brawley, the Duke rape case and Jena ... And all turned out
to be hoaxes. But about the epidemic of black assaults on
whites that are real, we hear nothing.
Sorry, Barack, some of us have heard it all before, about
40 years and 40 trillion tax dollars ago.
We are a Christian Nation even if Mr. Obama says we are not.

Federal Bubbles
Auto sales were down from an annualized 14.1 million (Aug)
to 9 million (Sep). The reason is that the Feds created
another bubble with the Cash for Clunkers giveaway.
The housing bubble was created by the CRA of 1977 and
decades of threats of Civil Rights lawsuits if bankers didn't
make loans that they knew were bad. Investment bankers - who
were not subject to bank regulations - made huge fees by
securitizing the debt instruments. The politicians took credit
for the increase in home ownership and then blamed the bust on
"greedy capitalists."
"Stimulus" money is creating another bubble which will burst
probably next year. The $787B in taxpayer money injected into
the economy runs out at some point. If we buy $300B in toxic
mortgages, then what will a mortgage or CDO be worth when
taxpayer bailouts are removed? The $8K for "first-time buyers"
will end soon. The Fed's rate is one-fourth what is was when it
stoked the housing fires. Will bankrupt states fund new "shovel
ready" projects or will their unemployment soar?
Stock in corporations making student loans lost 90% of their
value when Congress reduced the subsidy. Now the Feds want to
directly fund student loans through the bureaucrats at the
Department of Education. Colleges like Hillsdale [MI] and Grove
City [PA] saw the danger decades ago and challenged [then] HEW
in court and lost. These private colleges must compete with the
deep-pocketed Feds to make a college education - without Federal
control - available.
The debt is soaring and unemployment is at 9.8% - the highest
since 1983. Those who follow the bubbles - like lobbyists and
their employers - can make fortunes. Taxpayers will pay the bill
with hidden taxes like weak dollar/inflation or indirectly through
taxes on businesses or bailouts of bankrupt states (CA, NY, IL, MA
etc).

Israel and Palestine
Obama's UN speech, 23 September 2009:
"The time has come to re-launch negotiations - without
preconditions - that address the permanent-status issues:
security for Israelis and Palestinians;
borders, refugees and Jerusalem.
The goal is clear: two states living side by side in peace
and security - a Jewish State of Israel, with true security
for all Israelis; and a viable, independent Palestinian state
with contiguous territory that ends the occupation that began
in 1967, and realizes the potential of the Palestinian people."
Security for Israel means that terrorists are not allowed to
kill Israelis by launching missiles from Gaza or the West Bank
- or anywhere else - and, terrorists stop suicide attacks. If
this happens, then Israel will stop counterattacks.
God gave the Jews the land (Genesis 15:18):
On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying," To
your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt
as far as the great river, the river Euphrates.
Although Arabs claim to be descendants Abraham through Ishmael,
the Bible makes it clear that the descendants of Isaac and
Jacob (Israel) are the ones to receive the covenant blessing.

Protectionism and tires
Obama imposed 35% tariffs on imports of tires that China
makes for the low-price end of the market. George Will
describes him as "invertebrate as he invariably is when
organized labor barks." No backbone or spineless are
less esoteric.
Since China is one of a handful of nations capable of
buying our debt, and, Obama is a debt specialist, he
seems either courageous or ignorant.
The costs of the president's sacrifice of the national
interest to the economic illiteracy of a single labor
union [United Steelworkers] may also include injuries
China might inflict by imposing retaliatory protectionism
or reducing its purchases of U.S. government debt,
purchases that enable Americans to consume more government

Global Warming again?
Obama was at the "United" Nations Climate Change Summit
in New York yesterday. The big meeting (Kyoto 2) is
scheduled for Copenhagen, Denmark in December.
Secretary of Energy Chu said Monday "The American public -
just like your teenage kids - aren't acting in a way that
they should act. The American public has to really understand
in their core how important this issue is."
This full-court press is necessary to convince us irresponsible
teens that this really is a crisis - and one not to be wasted!

Lengthening the Recession
If we ignore the lessons of history, then we will be
condemned to repeat the mistakes.
Some mistakes made by Hoover and FDR were trying to keep
wages high and being protectionist. Obama and the
Democrats are doing exactly that. They raised the
minimum wage earlier this year. IBD today had several
examples today of protectionist policies.
It should be obvious that, if you have 5 employees and
$100,000 available for wages, and if wages increase to
$120,000, then you can no longer afford 5 employees!
Unemployment has exceeded the expected 8% and is 9.7%
and still going up. It averaged about 18% under FDR.

U. S. Representative Joe Wilson
It is appropriate to challenge the POTUS when he is
lying to a world-wide audience. Wilson correctly
apologized for breaking a - rather stupid -
Congressional rule. To avoid vocal feedback like this,
speakers just need to tell the truth. Most viewers on
TV are uninformed while Congress knows a lie when they
hear it. Wilson did a courageous service for the TV
audience. He will suffer consequences since the Democrats
control the Congress. He will not get invited to the White
House any time soon either! But it is OK for Obama to say
that the police "acted stupidly" without knowing any facts....
Wilson should invite Obama over to his house for a beer to
discuss it!

Obama's Health Care Speech
Did he not say that it would be illegal not to have health
insurance? He compared health insurance to auto insurance.
People can choose not to drive or to buy the minimum (liability
only) insurance. How does that work with health insurance?
Those 8.4 million 18-25 year olds who consider themselves
indestructible and choose not to buy health insurance will
be subject to fines and imprisonment. Those 18 million who
can afford health insurance, but choose not pay for it
because they can self insure, also will be subject to fines
and imprisonment.
Because these 26.4 million will be new policies, the Federal
government will tax the insurance companies. Isn't this an
indirect tax on the individuals who Obama promised no tax
increases?

an existing illness? Assuming the punishment will be fines
and/or imprisonment, doesn't this interfere with the way the
insurance industry balances risk with higher premiums?

would be put back by stopping fraud and abuse? Why has that

Obama's school speech
If the kids only remember to take personal responsibility
and that there is no excuse for not trying, then the speech
was worth the effort.
If everyone got the message that education is the
Constitutional responsibility of the Federal government,
then the speech did more harm than good. Those folks
who have read the Bible know that the education of
children is the responsibility of parents. Our founding
fathers knew that.
The pure form is home schooling. The next level is using
trained teachers who will faithfully follow the wishes of
the parents. Only when these options are not available
should parents give their children to the government to
educate and indoctrinate for 40 hours per week.
True conservatives - not neo-cons like GW Bush - have read
the Constitution, and were distressed when Carter created
two new bureaucracies with the Departments of Education
and Energy. Part of the conservative agenda was to abolish
these and return power to the people in these areas.

Labor Day
The labor leaders blame the problems on corporate greed.
Management blames the problems on the high costs of labor -
particularly health and retirement benefits. At the same time,
Japan was producing higher quality cars and trucks because of
our own Dr. Deming. American MBA schools ignored his
statistical quality control ideas.
Labor wants to keep the high wages and have taxpayers
cover the health and retirement benefits. What they don't
tell you is that there are non-union, American auto workers
who are paid well but much less than UAW workers when
the total cost of labor is considered. The Federal
government's solution to failed business is for the taxpayer
to buy the failed business.
In 1970, Future Shock, warned that the industrial age was
maturing and that automation would free many industrial
- as it had for agricultural - workers to be service and
information workers. Most industrial workers ignored the
warning because they would have to take a serious cut in
pay to retrain and take the jobs which the economy was
creating. The UAW was paying 95% of a worker's pay to UAW
workers whenever they were laid off. Even with the deep
pockets of the taxpayers, the UAW can not afford to do that.
The taxpayers were supposed to pick up the tab for UAW
workers' health and retirement benefits, but most are not
willing to do that.The unemployment rate is now 9.7%

government schools are ill-prepared to compete in the
global economy. Obama will tax small business with
both hidden taxes like the VAT and a 5.4% surcharge
on any business making more than $1M. Cap and trade will

or slow growth mode until capitalism returns.

Forgotten items
Why is tax reform a forgotten item? The Fair Tax would have
solved many of the problems we now see as tax scandals. It would
also really stimulate the economy.
What about illegal immigration? The number of new illegals has
decreased since the recession started, but the problem has not gone
away. Every day that Congress ignores this exacerbates the problem.
A small part of the solution is for Congress to clarify the 14th
amendment with a simple bill (you spent $2 billion with a 2 page
bill to extend the clunker bill):
Citizenship shall not be granted on the basis of an illegal act.
Obviously - to me - the 1868 amendment was not meant to confer
citizenship to babies of illegals. Congress can fix this, but every day
makes the problem worse, because they will not renege on
citizenship already granted. These "anchor babies" then give an
excuse to grant citizenship to the extended family. All of these will
cut in line in front of those who request citizenship through legal
means.

Since the "oil crisis" of the 1970s it has been clear that the USA did
not have a reasonable and complete energy policy.
We have operated on the GOBEP, good old boy energy policy, which
rewards the supporters of those in power.
T. Boone Pickens has proposed using windpower in the midwest
corridor from Texas to North Dakota to produce electricity and
using natural gas to power internal combustion vehicles. Will he
make money if his policy is implemented? Absolutely!
Natural gas prices are the lowest since 2002. Anyone - normally
trucking firms and cities who are converting their truck fleets by
attrition - who has implemented the plan is saving money.
Pickens wants taxpayers to modernize the distribution grid for
electricity in America.
The USA is still importing over 9 million barrels of oil each day at
over $70/barrel. Approximately $630 million of American capital
is transferred to foreigners - many who hate us - each day!
Our own government is preventing the development of domestic
resources.

The Geneva Convention and GITMO
The Geneva Conventions apply at times of war and armed conflict
to governments who have ratified its terms. The reader should
recognize the controversial nature of the topic of applicability.
When the Geneva Conventions apply, governments must
surrender a certain degree of their national sovereignty to comply
with international law. These laws may not be entirely harmonious
with their national constitution or their cultural values. Despite
the advantages offered by the Conventions to individuals, political
pressures may cause the governments to be reluctant in accepting
its responsibilities.
Note that a treaty signed in 1949 by parties to World War II is not
applicable to the current war on terror. Alexander Hamilton said
"It is the Constitution that authorizes us to make treaties. If a
treaty violates the Constitution, it would be like an agent
betraying his principal or authority."
According to the Conventions, a combatant not in uniform is a spy
and may be shot. The fact that two of the many combatants were
waterboarded, instead of shot immediately seems humanitarian!
Misguided liberals want combatants treated as American
citizens - which they are not - and given legal rights expected by
American citizens. Somehow transferring them from one prison
at GITMO to another prison on American soil in the lower 48
supports this claim. It is just a shell game to con the American
people.

Energy policy
The United States has tremendous coal, natural gas and oil
resources. For about a century, we have developed a vibrant
economy - the largest in the world - around these sources of energy.
The R&D, extraction, use and distribution of these resources is
mature. The relatively low costs of these fuels has made them the
choice of most energy-consuming industries.
These fossil fuels are seen as a major source of greenhouse gases,
and new energy policies seek to minimize their use. The problem is
that so-called "alternative sources of energy" are more expensive,
and the technologies associated with them are immature.
The greenhouse gas which most affects the average global
temperature - if that can actually be measured - is water vapor.
The Sun warms water and water vapor is released. The Earth once
had a vapor canopy which resulted in global tropical conditions.
Scientists have found tropical plants under the ice in Antarctica.
Kyoto and other treaties and the proposed "cap and trade"
legislation restrict businesses in the "developed nations" while
placing no restrictions on "undeveloped nations" such as Brazil,
Russia, India and China (BRIC). Bill Clinton signed the Kyoto
accords but didn't send the treaty to the Senate for ratification -
because it would hurt American business and send more jobs
overseas. The European nations who signed Kyoto have not grown
as they could have, and unemployment in them has been high.
The Pickens Plan is to use natural gas to run vehicles and
windpower in the mid-West to provide electrical energy. Truck
fleets are being converted to natgas by attrition, and Pickens is
lobbying for a modernization of the electrical grid in the United
States.
Solar, geothermal, hydro, nuclear and other sources of energy
should be used where they are cost-effective. The National
Laboratories should lead the research and development necessary
to make these sources of energy clean and cost-effective. In the
meantime, the proven sources of energy should be developed and
used to maintain our dominance as a world power.
Nuclear technology has significantly advanced in the 30+ years
since our last plant was built. France produces 75+% of its power
from nuclear, and China is buying U.S. and other technology to
implement this energy source. Unrealistic fears here have made
the United States less competitive.

Death Panels and the Public Option
Triage (pronounced /ˈtriːɑːʒ/) is a process of prioritizing patients
based on the severity of their condition. This rations patient
treatment efficiently when resources are insufficient for all to be
treated immediately.
ObamaCare would have a commission - like the Federal Reserve's
Open Market Committee - folks like the National Health
Commissioner, the Health Czar, the Special Assistant to the
President for Health, the Secretary of HHS. These folks will
perform triage just like Kate Beckinsale, the pretty nurse in Pearl
Harbor, who used lipstick to designate whether care would be
useless. M meant "give them morphine to keep them comfortable
until they die."
Personally I would like my doctor to make that life/death decision!

Abortion is Murder
Any medical professional has had enough teaching on the human
"fetus" to know that he/she is a baby.
The Democrats have included taxpayer-paid abortion as part of
health reform. Since abortion is murder, that makes me and every
other taxpayer an accessory to murder.
The 1973 Roe v. Wade decision was based on the 14th Amendment
from 1868. Many bad decisions have been based on this
Amendment. It is also used to give citizenship to a baby born in an
American hospital to a mother who had illegally entered the U.S.
Illegal acts should not be rewarded with American citizenship!

Boxer to General Hill
Some of us witnessed the arrogance of Barbara Boxer (CA) as she admonished a brigadier general because he addressed her as "ma'am" and not "Senator" before a Senate hearing. This letter is from a National Guard aviator and Captain for Alaska Airlines. I wonder what he would have said if he were really angry. Long fly Alaska !!!!!
You were so right on when you scolded the general on TV for using the term, "ma'am," instead of "Senator". After all, in the military, "ma'am" is a term of respect when addressing a female of superior rank or position. The general was totally wrong.. You are not a person of superior rank or position. You are a member of one of the world's most corrupt organizations, the U.S. Senate, equalled only by the U.S. House of Representatives.
Congress is a cesspool of liars, thieves, inside traders, traitors, drunks (one who killed a staffer, yet is still revered), criminals, and other low level swine who, as individuals (not all, but many), will do anything to enhance their lives, fortunes and power, all at the expense of the People of the United States and its Constitution, in order to be continually re-elected. Many democrats even want American troops killed by releasing photographs. How many of you could honestly say, "We pledge our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor"? None? One? Two?
Your reaction to the general shows several things. First is your abysmal ignorance of all things military. Your treatment of the general shows you to be an elitist of the worst kind. When the general entered the military (as most of us who served) he wrote the government a blank check, offering his life to protect your derriere, now safely and comfortably ensconced in a 20 thousand dollar leather chair, paid for by the general's taxes. You repaid him for this by humiliating him in front of millions.
Second is your puerile character, lack of sophistication, and arrogance which borders on the hubristic. This display of brattish behavior shows you to be a virago, termagant, harridan, nag, scold or shrew, unfit for your position, regardless of the support of the unwashed, uneducated masses who have made California into the laughing stock of the nation.
What I am writing, Senator, are the same thoughts countless millions of Americans have toward Congress, but who lack the energy, ability or time to convey them. Under the democrats, some don't even have the 44 cents to buy the stamp. Regardless of their thoughts, most realize that politicians are pretty much the same, and will vote for the one who will bring home the most bacon, even if they do consider how corrupt that person is. Lord Acton (1834 - 1902) so aptly charged, "Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely." Unbeknownst to you and your colleagues, "Mr. Power" has had his way with all of you, and we are all the worse for it.
Finally Senator, I, too, have a title. It is "Right Wing Extremist Potential Terrorist Threat." It is not of my choosing, but was given to me by your Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano. And you were offended by "ma'am"?

We are gathered here today on the Plains of West Texas in common purpose. We are here to remind our government that this is our country. We the People are still in charge, and our government is still our servant and not our master.
Our Nation's founding document is The Declaration of Independence ... It tells us that our rights come from God and not from a small group of elite men and women.

Free for Everyone!
I bought a bird feeder. I hung it on my back porch and filled
it with seed. What a beauty of a bird feeder it was, as I filled
it lovingly with seed. Within a week we had hundreds of birds
taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily
accessible food. But then the birds started building nests
in the boards of the patio, above the table, and next to the
barbecue.
Then came the poop. It was everywhere: on the patio tile,
the chairs, the table ..everywhere!
Then some of the birds turned mean. They would dive bomb
me and try to peck me even though I had fed them out of my
own pocket. And other birds were boisterous and loud. They
sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours of
the day and night and demanded that I fill it when it got low
on food.
After a while, I couldn't even sit on my own back porch
anymore. So I took down the bird feeder and in three days the
birds were gone. I cleaned up their mess and took down the
many nests they had built all over the patio. Soon, the back
yard was like it used to be ....quiet, serene.... and no one
demanding their rights to a free meal.
Now let's see.
Our government gives out free food, subsidized housing, free
medical care and free education, and allows anyone born here
to be an automatic citizen.
Then the illegals came by the tens of thousands. Suddenly
our taxes went up to pay for free services; small apartments
are housing 5 families; you have to wait 6 hours to be seen by
an emergency room doctor; your child's second grade class is
behind other schools because over half the class doesn't
speak English. Corn Flakes now come in a bilingual box; I
have to 'press one ' to hear my bank talk to me in English, and
people waving flags other than our flag are squawking and
screaming in the streets, demanding more rights and free
liberties.
Just my opinion, but maybe it's time for the government to
take down the bird feeder.

Anchor babies
Congress can fix this easily. Pass a bill that says that the 14th
Amendment was not meant to give instant citizenship to babies

I'm a home grown American citizen, 53, registered Democrat all
my life. Before the last presidential election I registered as a
Republican because I no longer felt the Democratic Party
represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me.

feel so disenfranchised by both major political parties. What kind

One, illegal immigration. I want you to stop coddling illegal
immigrants and secure our borders. Close the underground tunnels.
Stop the violence and the trafficking in drugs and people. No
amnesty, not again. Been there, done that, no resolution. P.S., I'm
not a racist. This isn't to be confused with legal immigration.
Two, the TARP bill, I want it repealed and I want no further funding
supplied to it. We told you no, but you did it anyway. I want the
remaining unfunded 95% repealed. Freeze, repeal.
Three: Czars, I want the circumvention of our checks and balances
stopped immediately. Fire the czars. No more czars. Government
officials answer to the process, not to the president. Stop trampling
on our Constitution and honor it.
Four, cap and trade. The debate on global warming is not over.
There is more to say.
Five, universal healthcare. I will not be rushed into another
expensive decision. Don't you dare try to pass this in the middle
of the night and then go on break. Slow down!
Six, growing government control. I want states rights and sovereignty
fully restored. I want less government in my life, not more. Shrink
it down. Mind your own business. You have enough to take care of
with your real obligations. Why don't you start there?
Seven, ACORN. I do not want ACORN and its affiliates in charge
of our 2010 census. I want them investigated. I also do not want
mandatory escrow fees contributed to them every time on every
real estate deal that closes. Stop the funding to ACORN and its
affiliates pending impartial audits and investigations. I do not
trust them with taking the census over with our taxpayer money.

allegations against them and get it resolved before taxpayers get
any more involved with them. If it walks like a duck and talks like
a duck, hello. Stop protecting your political buddies. You work for
us, the people. Investigate.
Eight, redistribution of wealth. No, no, no. I work for my money.
It is mine. I have always worked for people with more money than
I have because they gave me jobs. That is the only redistribution
of wealth that I will support. I never got a job from a poor person.
Why do you want me to hate my employers? Why -- what do you
have against shareholders making a profit?
Nine, charitable contributions. Although I never got a job from a
poor person, I have helped many in need. Charity belongs in our
local communities, where we know our needs best and can use our
local talent and our local resources. Butt out, please. We want to
do it ourselves.
Ten, corporate bailouts. Knock it off. Sink or swim like the rest of
us. If there are hard times ahead, we'll be better off just getting
into it and letting the strong survive. Quick and painful. Have you
ever ripped off a Band-Aid? We will pull together. Great things
happen in America under great hardship. Give us the chance to
innovate. We cannot disappoint you more than you have
disappointed us.
Eleven, transparency and accountability. How about it? No, really,
how about it? Let's have it. Let's say we give the buzzwords a rest
and have some straight honest talk. Please try -- please stop
manipulating and trying to appease me with clever wording. I am
not the idiot you obviously take me for. Stop sneaking around and
meeting in back rooms making deals with your friends. It will only
be a prelude to your criminal investigation. Stop hiding things from
me.
Twelve, unprecedented quick spending. Stop it now. Take a breath.
Listen to the people. Let's just slow down and get some input
from some non-politicians on the subject. Stop making everything
an emergency. Stop speed reading our bills into law. I am not an
activist. I am not a community organizer. Nor am I a terrorist, a
militant or a violent person. I am a parent and a grandparent.
I work. I am busy, and I am tired. I thought we elected competent
people to take care of the business of government so that we could
work, raise our families, pay our bills, have a little recreation,
complain about taxes, endure our hardships, pursue our personal
goals, cut our lawn, wash our cars on the weekends and be responsible
contributing members of society and teach our children to be the
same all while living in the home of the free and land of the brave.
I entrusted you with upholding the Constitution. I believed in the
checks and balances to keep from getting far off course. What
happened? You are very far off course. Do you really think I find
humor in the hiring of a speed reader to unintelligently ramble all
through a bill that you signed into law without knowing what it
contained? I do not. It is a mockery of the responsibility I have
entrusted to you. It is a slap in the face. I am not laughing at your
arrogance. Why is it that I feel as if you would not trust me to make
a single decision about my own life and how I would live it but you
should expect that I should trust you with the debt that you have
laid on all of us and our children. We did not want the TARP bill.
We said no. We would repeal it if we could. I am sure that we still
cannot. There is such urgency and recklessness in all of the recent
spending.
From my perspective, it seems that all of you have gone insane.
I also know that I am far from alone in these feelings. Do you
honestly feel that your current pursuits have merit to patriotic
Americans? We want it to stop. We want to put the brakes on
everything that is being rushed by us and forced upon us. We
want our voice back. You have forced us to put our lives on hold
to straighten out the mess that you are making. We will have to
give up our vacations, our time spent with our children, any
relaxation time we may have had and money we cannot afford to
spend on you to bring our concerns to Washington . Our president
often knows all the right buzzword is unsustainable. Well, no kidding.
How many tens of thousands of dollars did the focus group cost to
come up with that word? We don't want your overpriced words.
Stop treating us like we're morons.
We want all of you to stop focusing on your reelection and do the
job we want done, not the job you want done or the job your party
wants done. You work for us and at this rate I guarantee you not for
long because we are coming. We will be heard and we will be
represented. You think we're so busy with our lives that we will
never come for you? We are the formerly silent majority, all of us
who quietly work , pay taxes, obey the law, vote, save money, keep
our noses to the grindstone and we are now looking up at you. You
have awakened us, the patriotic spirit so strong and so powerful that
it had been sleeping too long. You have pushed us too far. Our
numbers are great. They may surprise you. For every one of us who
will be there, there will be hundreds more that could not come. Unlike
you, we have their trust. We will represent them honestly, rest
assured. They will be at the polls on voting day to usher you out of
office. We have cancelled vacations. We will use our last few dollars
saved. We will find the representation among us and a grassroots
campaign will flourish. We didn't ask for this fight. But the gloves are
coming off. We do not come in violence, but we are angry. You will
represent us or you will be replaced with someone who will. There
are candidates among us when he will rise like a Phoenix from the
ashes that you have made of our constitution.

We don't care. Political parties are meaningless to us. Patriotic
Americans are willing to do right by us and our Constitution and
that is all that matters to us now. We are going to fire all of you who

dishonorable. You are dishonest. As Americans we are ashamed of
you. You have brought shame to us. If you are not representing the

officials answer to the process, not to the president. Stop trampling
on our Constitution and honor it.
Four, cap and trade. The debate on global warming is not over.
There is more to say.
Five, universal healthcare. I will not be rushed into another
expensive decision. Don't you dare try to pass this in the middle
of the night and then go on break. Slow down!
Six, growing government control. I want states rights and sovereignty
fully restored. I want less government in my life, not more. Shrink
it down. Mind your own business. You have enough to take care of
with your real obligations. Why don't you start there?
Seven, ACORN. I do not want ACORN and its affiliates in charge
of our 2010 census. I want them investigated. I also do not want
mandatory escrow fees contributed to them every time on every
real estate deal that closes. Stop the funding to ACORN and its
affiliates pending impartial audits and investigations. I do not
trust them with taking the census over with our taxpayer money.
I don't trust them with our taxpayer money. Face up to the
allegations against them and get it resolved before taxpayers get
any more involved with them. If it walks like a duck and talks like
a duck, hello. Stop protecting your political buddies. You work for
us, the people. Investigate.
Eight, redistribution of wealth. No, no, no. I work for my money.
It is mine. I have always worked for people with more money than
I have because they gave me jobs. That is the only redistribution
of wealth that I will support. I never got a job from a poor person.
Why do you want me to hate my employers? Why -- what do you
have against shareholders making a profit?
Nine, charitable contributions. Although I never got a job from a
poor person, I have helped many in need. Charity belongs in our
local communities, where we know our needs best and can use our
local talent and our local resources. Butt out, please. We want to
do it ourselves.
Ten, corporate bailouts. Knock it off. Sink or swim like the rest of
us. If there are hard times ahead, we'll be better off just getting
into it and letting the strong survive. Quick and painful. Have you
ever ripped off a Band-Aid? We will pull together. Great things
happen in America under great hardship. Give us the chance to
innovate. We cannot disappoint you more than you have
disappointed us.
Eleven, transparency and accountability. How about it? No, really,
how about it? Let's have it. Let's say we give the buzzwords a rest
and have some straight honest talk. Please try -- please stop
manipulating and trying to appease me with clever wording. I am
not the idiot you obviously take me for. Stop sneaking around and
meeting in back rooms making deals with your friends. It will only
be a prelude to your criminal investigation. Stop hiding things from
me.
Twelve, unprecedented quick spending. Stop it now. Take a breath.
Listen to the people. Let's just slow down and get some input
from some non-politicians on the subject. Stop making everything
an emergency. Stop speed reading our bills into law. I am not an
activist. I am not a community organizer. Nor am I a terrorist, a
militant or a violent person. I am a parent and a grandparent.
I work. I am busy, and I am tired. I thought we elected competent
people to take care of the business of government so that we could
work, raise our families, pay our bills, have a little recreation,
complain about taxes, endure our hardships, pursue our personal
goals, cut our lawn, wash our cars on the weekends and be responsible
contributing members of society and teach our children to be the
same all while living in the home of the free and land of the brave.
I entrusted you with upholding the Constitution. I believed in the
checks and balances to keep from getting far off course. What
happened? You are very far off course. Do you really think I find
humor in the hiring of a speed reader to unintelligently ramble all
through a bill that you signed into law without knowing what it
contained? I do not. It is a mockery of the responsibility I have
entrusted to you. It is a slap in the face. I am not laughing at your
arrogance. Why is it that I feel as if you would not trust me to make
a single decision about my own life and how I would live it but you
should expect that I should trust you with the debt that you have
laid on all of us and our children. We did not want the TARP bill.
We said no. We would repeal it if we could. I am sure that we still
cannot. There is such urgency and recklessness in all of the recent
spending.
From my perspective, it seems that all of you have gone insane.
I also know that I am far from alone in these feelings. Do you
honestly feel that your current pursuits have merit to patriotic
Americans? We want it to stop. We want to put the brakes on
everything that is being rushed by us and forced upon us. We
want our voice back. You have forced us to put our lives on hold
to straighten out the mess that you are making. We will have to
give up our vacations, our time spent with our children, any
relaxation time we may have had and money we cannot afford to
spend on you to bring our concerns to Washington . Our president
often knows all the right buzzword is unsustainable. Well, no kidding.
How many tens of thousands of dollars did the focus group cost to
come up with that word? We don't want your overpriced words.
Stop treating us like we're morons.
We want all of you to stop focusing on your reelection and do the
job we want done, not the job you want done or the job your party
wants done. You work for us and at this rate I guarantee you not for
long because we are coming. We will be heard and we will be
represented. You think we're so busy with our lives that we will
never come for you? We are the formerly silent majority, all of us
who quietly work , pay taxes, obey the law, vote, save money, keep
our noses to the grindstone and we are now looking up at you. You
have awakened us, the patriotic spirit so strong and so powerful that
it had been sleeping too long. You have pushed us too far. Our
numbers are great. They may surprise you. For every one of us who
will be there, there will be hundreds more that could not come. Unlike
you, we have their trust. We will represent them honestly, rest
assured. They will be at the polls on voting day to usher you out of
office. We have cancelled vacations. We will use our last few dollars
saved. We will find the representation among us and a grassroots
campaign will flourish. We didn't ask for this fight. But the gloves are
coming off. We do not come in violence, but we are angry. You will
represent us or you will be replaced with someone who will. There
are candidates among us when he will rise like a Phoenix from the
ashes that you have made of our constitution.
Democrat, Republican, independent, libertarian. Understand this.
We don't care. Political parties are meaningless to us. Patriotic
Americans are willing to do right by us and our Constitution and
that is all that matters to us now. We are going to fire all of you who
abuse power and seek more. It is not your power. It is20ours and we
want it back. We entrusted you with it and you abused it. You are
dishonorable. You are dishonest. As Americans we are ashamed of
you. You have brought shame to us. If you are not representing the
wants and needs of your constituency loudly and consistently, in
spite of the objections of your party, you will be fired. Did you hear?
We no longer care about your political parties. You need to be loyal
to us, not to them. Because we will get you fired and they will not save
you. If you do or can represent me, my issues, my views, please stand
up. Make your identity known. You need to make some noise about it.
Speak up. I need to know who you are. If you do not speak up, you will
be herded out with the rest of the sheep and we will replace the whole
damn Congress if need be one by one. We are coming. Are we coming
for you? Who do you represent? What do you represent? Listen.
Because we are coming. We the people are coming.
