The Geneva Convention and GITMO

The Geneva Conventions apply at times of war and armed conflict
to governments who have ratified its terms. The reader should
recognize the controversial nature of the topic of applicability.
When the Geneva Conventions apply, governments must
surrender a certain degree of their national sovereignty to comply
with international law. These laws may not be entirely harmonious
with their national constitution or their cultural values. Despite
the advantages offered by the Conventions to individuals, political
pressures may cause the governments to be reluctant in accepting
its responsibilities.
Note that a treaty signed in 1949 by parties to World War II is not
applicable to the current war on terror. Alexander Hamilton said
"It is the Constitution that authorizes us to make treaties. If a
treaty violates the Constitution, it would be like an agent
betraying his principal or authority."
According to the Conventions, a combatant not in uniform is a spy
and may be shot. The fact that two of the many combatants were
waterboarded, instead of shot immediately seems humanitarian!
Misguided liberals want combatants treated as American
citizens - which they are not - and given legal rights expected by
American citizens. Somehow transferring them from one prison
at GITMO to another prison on American soil in the lower 48
supports this claim. It is just a shell game to con the American
people.

Energy policy

The United States has tremendous coal, natural gas and oil
resources. For about a century, we have developed a vibrant
economy - the largest in the world - around these sources of energy.
The R&D, extraction, use and distribution of these resources is
mature. The relatively low costs of these fuels has made them the
choice of most energy-consuming industries.
These fossil fuels are seen as a major source of greenhouse gases,
and new energy policies seek to minimize their use. The problem is
that so-called "alternative sources of energy" are more expensive,
and the technologies associated with them are immature.
The greenhouse gas which most affects the average global
temperature - if that can actually be measured - is water vapor.
The Sun warms water and water vapor is released. The Earth once
had a vapor canopy which resulted in global tropical conditions.
Scientists have found tropical plants under the ice in Antarctica.
Kyoto and other treaties and the proposed "cap and trade"
legislation restrict businesses in the "developed nations" while
placing no restrictions on "undeveloped nations" such as Brazil,
Russia, India and China (BRIC). Bill Clinton signed the Kyoto
accords but didn't send the treaty to the Senate for ratification -
because it would hurt American business and send more jobs
overseas. The European nations who signed Kyoto have not grown
as they could have, and unemployment in them has been high.
The Pickens Plan is to use natural gas to run vehicles and
windpower in the mid-West to provide electrical energy. Truck
fleets are being converted to natgas by attrition, and Pickens is
lobbying for a modernization of the electrical grid in the United
States.
Solar, geothermal, hydro, nuclear and other sources of energy
should be used where they are cost-effective. The National
Laboratories should lead the research and development necessary
to make these sources of energy clean and cost-effective. In the
meantime, the proven sources of energy should be developed and
used to maintain our dominance as a world power.
Nuclear technology has significantly advanced in the 30+ years
since our last plant was built. France produces 75+% of its power
from nuclear, and China is buying U.S. and other technology to
implement this energy source. Unrealistic fears here have made
the United States less competitive.

Death Panels and the Public Option

Triage (pronounced /ˈtriːɑːʒ/) is a process of prioritizing patients
based on the severity of their condition. This rations patient
treatment efficiently when resources are insufficient for all to be
treated immediately.
ObamaCare would have a commission - like the Federal Reserve's
Open Market Committee - folks like the National Health
Commissioner, the Health Czar, the Special Assistant to the
President for Health, the Secretary of HHS. These folks will
perform triage just like Kate Beckinsale, the pretty nurse in Pearl
Harbor, who used lipstick to designate whether care would be
useless. M meant "give them morphine to keep them comfortable
until they die."
Personally I would like my doctor to make that life/death decision!
The Federal Reserve is being blamed for much of the current fiscal
crisis for lowering their interest rate too low and doing nothing
about the bubble their actions caused. The National Health
Commission will be another mistake.

Abortion is Murder

Any medical professional has had enough teaching on the human
"fetus" to know that he/she is a baby.
The Democrats have included taxpayer-paid abortion as part of
health reform. Since abortion is murder, that makes me and every
other taxpayer an accessory to murder.
The 1973 Roe v. Wade decision was based on the 14th Amendment
from 1868. Many bad decisions have been based on this
Amendment. It is also used to give citizenship to a baby born in an
American hospital to a mother who had illegally entered the U.S.
Illegal acts should not be rewarded with American citizenship!

Town Hall with U.S. Rep. Paul Broun, M.D.

This was on Monday, 10 August. Dr. Broun is a strong
conservative - as was Charlie Norwood who he replaced.
An ObamaCare supporter had a sign "83% support the Public
Option."
I had read earlier on Rasmussen.com that only 32% now support
the Public Option. Either the sign is really old and the person has
been in another world since it was made, or Obama supporters will
maintain the lie. Hitler said that - if you have a bully pulpit - "if you
tell a lie loud enough and long enough, the people will begin to
believe it."
Does anyone believe that everyone - including the currently
uninsured and those with pre-existing conditions - can have
access to comprehensive medical care for less cost? One of the
solutions to the Social Security problem is to raise the age of
eligibility. Passive euthanasia (withholding care from the elderly)
is the ObamaCare equivalent.
The town hall meeting was supposed to start at 6PM, but the traffic
was so heavy, that it took 20 minutes to cover the last mile. There
were actually two SRO meetings - 6-7PM and 7:30-8:30PM. In the
interim, Congressman Broun was on a telephone interview with a
local radio host.
Dr. Broun's advice is to let everyone in your sphere of influence
know the truth.

Boxer to General Hill

Some of us witnessed the arrogance of Barbara Boxer (CA) as she admonished a brigadier general because he addressed her as "ma'am" and not "Senator" before a Senate hearing. This letter is from a National Guard aviator and Captain for Alaska Airlines. I wonder what he would have said if he were really angry. Long fly Alaska !!!!!

You were so right on when you scolded the general on TV for using the term, "ma'am," instead of "Senator". After all, in the military, "ma'am" is a term of respect when addressing a female of superior rank or position. The general was totally wrong.. You are not a person of superior rank or position. You are a member of one of the world's most corrupt organizations, the U.S. Senate, equalled only by the U.S. House of Representatives.

Congress is a cesspool of liars, thieves, inside traders, traitors, drunks (one who killed a staffer, yet is still revered), criminals, and other low level swine who, as individuals (not all, but many), will do anything to enhance their lives, fortunes and power, all at the expense of the People of the United States and its Constitution, in order to be continually re-elected. Many democrats even want American troops killed by releasing photographs. How many of you could honestly say, "We pledge our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor"? None? One? Two?

Your reaction to the general shows several things. First is your abysmal ignorance of all things military. Your treatment of the general shows you to be an elitist of the worst kind. When the general entered the military (as most of us who served) he wrote the government a blank check, offering his life to protect your derriere, now safely and comfortably ensconced in a 20 thousand dollar leather chair, paid for by the general's taxes. You repaid him for this by humiliating him in front of millions.

Second is your puerile character, lack of sophistication, and arrogance which borders on the hubristic. This display of brattish behavior shows you to be a virago, termagant, harridan, nag, scold or shrew, unfit for your position, regardless of the support of the unwashed, uneducated masses who have made California into the laughing stock of the nation.

What I am writing, Senator, are the same thoughts countless millions of Americans have toward Congress, but who lack the energy, ability or time to convey them. Under the democrats, some don't even have the 44 cents to buy the stamp. Regardless of their thoughts, most realize that politicians are pretty much the same, and will vote for the one who will bring home the most bacon, even if they do consider how corrupt that person is. Lord Acton (1834 - 1902) so aptly charged, "Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely." Unbeknownst to you and your colleagues, "Mr. Power" has had his way with all of you, and we are all the worse for it.

Finally Senator, I, too, have a title. It is "Right Wing Extremist Potential Terrorist Threat." It is not of my choosing, but was given to me by your Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano. And you were offended by "ma'am"?

Texas TEA Party

Delivered at the Lubbock,TX,TEA Party by Dr. Donald May,
April 15, 2009 - 11:49 pm
Ladies and gentlemen, This is a Time For Courage.
We are gathered here today on the Plains of West Texas in common purpose. We are here to remind our government that this is our country. We the People are still in charge, and our government is still our servant and not our master.
Our Nation's founding document is The Declaration of Independence ... It tells us that our rights come from God and not from a small group of elite men and women.
Our Constitution starts with the words "We the People." Our
Constitution was written for ordinary Americans like you and
me. Our Constitution protects us from our government and
from the politicians. Our President has complained that our
Constitution gives ordinary people too much protection. He has ridiculed us for the high value we place on our Bibles, our guns, our personal property, and our Liberty .. He tells us we do not deserve to keep the money we have earned.
We are told freedom has not worked. Personal responsibility,
free enterprise, and Liberty have not been effective. Our government will now make more of our decisions for us.
Other than our military, I can think of not one government agency I have ever found to be helpful.
And speaking of our military, how about those Navy Seals blowing the heads off those three terrorist pirates? Don't you just wish our entire government would function with such efficiency, professionalism, and courage?
We watch in disbelief as our beloved United States is
weakened economically, militarily, and morally by a radical President and his eager accomplices.
What has taken generations to build is systematically destroyed and replaced with the same Socialist Evil that brought poverty, destruction, and despair to untold hundreds of millions. The problems we face today have occurred
because we have not defended our Nation from Socialism.
For too long we have allowed the wrong people to make the worst possible decisions. The Bible warns us of class hatred.
The Radical leadership of our government daily fans the evil
flames of class envy.
Our European and Canadian friends beg us to not make the
same Socialist mistakes they did.
The President of the European Union warned our President that
his Socialist economic plans are taking the World down the "road to Hell."
The path to power for Socialists includes taking God and guns from the citizens. Without spiritual and physical protection, people cannot defend themselves and their Liberty.
They soon become slaves.
We are angered that our President apologizes for the
exceptionalism and heroism of the United States of America.
We are deeply troubled that he told others the United States
is not a Christian nation.
We are angered that we have been called cowards and
racists because we oppose Socialism. Socialism is not racial.
Socialism is an equal opportunity destroyer.
We are angered that a recent Department of Homeland
Security report has singled out our military men and women
who are returning home as being radical threats.
The report also characterizes you and me as right-wing
extremists and radicals because we favor smaller government
and lower taxes.
You and I are average citizens who believe just like most of our
fellow Americans. We want our government to leave us alone
and to keep its hands off our money, our religion, or guns, our
private property, and our lives.
We demand that our government stop spending money it
does not have. Stop confiscating our money and private
property. Stop printing money. Stop subsidizing Fannie Mae,
Freddie Mac, and the other failed financial institutions and
companies.
Mr. President, stop appointing tax cheats to positions of power
and influence. Mr. President, secure our borders.
Mr. President, do not divert money from our missile defense,
F-22 Raptors, and other vital military equipment. This gives
encouragement, aid, and comfort to our enemies. Protecting
us is your number one job.
Mr. President, do not give voting rights to millions of illegal
aliens and felons. You have no more right to create new voters
for your benefit than you do to use our money to buy the 2010
and 2012 Elections.
We gather peacefully here today because there is a growing
concern for what our government is doing to us and to our
future. We fear for the very survival of our Republic.
Yet there is much to make us hopeful and to fill our hearts with
optimism and courage. This is still our country!
The Constitution of the Unites States belongs to We the People.
Our Constitution still protects us from our government.
Call every possible elected official, including our President, Vice
President, and the Speaker of the House.
Demand that they stop stealing our money and giving it to
ACORN and their other political supporters in order to buy votes.
Call Senators Cornyn, Demint and Hutchison, and
Representative Neugebauer. Thank them. Urge them to do
much more. Remind them now is a time for action and not for
campaigning.
Volunteer to work on our 2010 Census. Confront ACORN.
Keep our Census honest... We must not allow our President
to take control of our Census for his political advantage.
We must replace as much of our Far Left Congress as possible
in 2010. Get involved... Do not let the ACORN control our
2010 Election.
Talk with someone every day who does not understand our
nation's history and our great heritage. Tell them why the
United States is a good and prosperous nation. It still remains
that brightly lit city on the hill. It still is the best hope for all
mankind.
Talk with all of the young people you can find. They are our
future. Many do not understand what they have and that their future is being destroyed. Encourage your elected State officials to pass
legislation that will protect us from our Federal government.
This is a time for strong peaceful action. Let us pray that We
the People can quickly return our government to its Constitutional
responsibilities.
Our President and Congress were elected to be our servants
and not our masters.
May God help our President and Congress to quickly realize
the error of their ways and stop their reckless and unwarranted
spending, cut our taxes, and reduce the size of our Federal
bureaucracy. If they do not, may God grant us the courage and
determination to vote them out of power next year.
May God richly bless and protect each of you, and our
Constitution, as together we pursue Liberty !
